Gail, at Faithfulness Farm, has an especially great blog post today. She has advice on preserving your summer herbs. A MUST read.
Some of my lavender, echinacea, a little sprig of rosemary & fresh sage.
I like to hang mine ~ some, I like to enjoy all year so I leave them up just to look at. :-) But most, I hang just until they're dry & then I package some & break others up & put into glass bottles to use for cooking & to make my spice mixes, soaps & salves.
Be sure to tell Gail that you heard about her at Marmee's Pantry.

Loved the pictures of the hanging herbs and those you bottle. I will drop by and visit your friend.
ReplyDeleteBlessing to you and keep on enjoying the moments.
Kim -- thank you for the shout out. Your herbs are gorgeous. I hang mine from my pot rack in the kitchen -- I smile each time I see them hanging there :)

You have such a beautiful home....those herbs drying looks so homey...bet it smells wonderful as well.
ReplyDeleteI am trying hard not to have lavender envy! LOL! This year I did have a few, very few, blooms on the lavender ... someday perhaps I'll get enough to make a bundle to dry! Lovely photos.
