The Simple Woman's Daybook ~#98~ 11/16/10

For Today...

Outside my window...
grey skies, chilly, windy...welcome to November in Ohio.

I am thinking...
that the Lord is preparing me for a change...& I know not what it is. Exciting & scary!

I am thankful for...
the necessities of life. Our church...we just became members this past Sunday! :-)

From the kitchen...looking through recipes for baked goods, spice blends, soaps, etc...considering what to make & put together for CHRISTmas gift baskets.

I am wearing...
jeans, brown sweater, brown socks.

I am remembering...
wonderful, childhood memories that were lovingly jogged by an e-mail from this morning.

I am going...to take DD#2 to work, read some favorite blogs, tidy the house, go to work in the late afternoon.

I am reading...
Bible: Psalms; "Herbal Antibiotics" by Stephen Harrod Buhner.

I am hoping...
for some clarity & direction.

I am creating...a Christ-centered home; the beginnings of homemade CHRISTmas gifts.

I am hearing...
the radio, leaves skittering by the window as the wind whips them around.

I am noticing that...
I need a hair cut!

Around the house...tidying up, simplifying.

One of my favorite things...
homemade...period. :-)

Plans for this week...
family time, work, worship practice, Sunday worship w/the saints!

Pondering these words..."Between the top of the ladder & the top of the wall." This past Sunday at church, we had a gentleman from a sister church who was 'recruiting' ppl to go w/them on a missions trip to Mali, West Africa. During his slide show, he had a photo of an African man climbing up to the roof of a building they were working on, on a very rickety ladder. There was 3-4 ft between the top of the ladder & the roof & the man was climbing onto the roof from there. He said that as he watched this precarious situation, that it occurred to him that THAT is where the Lord works best: between the top of the ladder & the top of the wall." FAITH.

Scripture thought...~~Eph. 6:19-20~~ "Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should." [Emphasis mine ~KW<><]

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

Prayer concern...a place for Marmee's Pantry? Hmmm...
