Outside my window . . . the calm before the (snow)storm ~ enjoyed a lovely sunny morning & now the clouds are moving in for tonight/tomorrow's snow. Winter's last gasp.
I am thinking . . . of the poor man in Florida who was swallowed-up by the sink hole under his house. I just can't get him & his family off my mind. Praying for them.
I am thankful . . . for my children. Today is our "baby" baby's ~ DD#2 ~ 22nd birthday. We celebrated yesterday, after chruch, w/family & dear friends at one of her favorite restaurants. Before we knew it, it was 5:00 & no one wanted for part, but those Sunday night preparations for the week ahead urged everyone home.
From the kitchen . . . chicken strips, Greek yogurt & raspberries.
I am wearing . . . jeans, "washed-out" black thermal Henley shirt.
I am creating . . . a peaceful, Christ-centered home.
I am going . . . to work the usual Monday late shift. I leave when the rest of the family comes home. :-(
I am wondering . . . a lot of things.
I am hoping . . . that a recent conversation will bear much fruit for the Lord.
I am reading . . . or rather, about to read my new House Tour issue of Country Sampler. My favorite issue of the year.
I am looking forward to . . . a cup of my peppermint, nettle & chamomile tea while I sit down with my magazine.
I am learning . . . to try not to be overwhelmed in all the little details of my project.
Around the house . . . general pick up, baking, never-ending laundry, sorting garden seeds . . .
One of my favorite things . . . celebrating birthdays with THE Man, our daughters & son-in-law.
A few plans for the rest of the week . . . family time, work, worship practice, working on my project, researching an article, worship with the saints . . .
A favorite quote for the day . . . "None of us deserves God's invitation, but He does invite us all. Excuses are a dime a dozen, let go & come to Jesus Christ." ~Notes from Sunday's Sermon, "What's Your Excuse?"
Scripture thought . . . "Then the master told his servant, 'Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full." ~Luke 14:23 [Jesus telling the Parable of the Great Banquet]
A picture thought for you . . .
My beautiful "baby" girl; DD#2.
Happy 22nd birthday, my darling daughter.
Blessings from Ohio . . . Kim<><
What a lovely picture of your sweet daughter. We actually just celebrated yesterday our 22 year old granddaughter's birthday. It was a fun event.
ReplyDeleteI am going to spend some time reading from the Country Sampler. I love anything country. Too bad I have to live in the city. Maybe we will retire in a more rural area.
Blessings!
Enjoyed your blog so much, found you through the Simple Woman's Daybook. Thanks for creating such a welcoming space!
ReplyDeleteThat was such a terrible thing in Florida. My heart breaks for that family. Our baby just turned 21 a few days ago...Sounds like a nice relaxing day. We got a little of that snow here this morning in Missouri. Didn't amount to much and it will be almost 50 tomorrow. So glad to have visited you again! I have been away for some time!
