In case you don’t know, Gregg & Sono Harris (parents of Josh Harris [I Kissed Dating Good-bye]) are MAJOR pioneers in re-introducing homeschooling to America. They are originally from my hometown of Dayton, Ohio & were major influences in my acceptance of Christ as my Savior in May of 1982; Gregg was my 1st pastor at Grace Fellowship Church, Sono patiently discipled me as a new Christian & told me all about homeschooling as I watched her teach then 7yr old Josh, they introduced me to my wonderful husband & they led a young adult’s group at Wright State Unitversity called The Event & opened their home to all of us crazy young adults & allowed us to make some of the very best friends we’ve ever known. So, as you can see, they are very, VERY special to our family & so many others.
Please pray for the whole family & that the Lord’s glorious will be done. Thank you, SO very much!
Blessings from Ohio...Kim<><
I am so very sorry Kim. Praying for all concerned! (((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteI will be praying, Kim. How special that this dear couple has had such an impact on your life.
ReplyDeleteI've been doing some reading of blogs this week that I didn't get to do last week and have been looking back over your many wonderful posts. The one especially dear to me was the response that you did to the commentor on homeschooling vs public school. I am so glad that you used the verse from Deuteronomy to prove the Biblical basis for homeschooling. That has always been a favorite verse of mine...when our children were young. Now I see it in the light of a Grandma who has the opportunity to make use of it in the lives of our young grandchildren. Thank you for the stands that you take, Kim. I know the Lord uses you mightily because you are willing to stand in the gap.
I have been thinking about you a lot lately...wondering how things are going with your job...how things have turned out with your husband's job...and how your girls are doing. The last that we'd talked the one daughter was going to be staying with your mom. I pray that is working out.
And how are YOU doing, my sweet friend? Have you fallen into a routine of sorts now where your job and home are concerned? Do you have time for you?
Please take care. Sending you lots of hugs!
Love ya,
Dianna
Many of Josh's books are in our home.
ReplyDeleteAs a former home schooling family, we
are well aware of the Harris family.
We have prayed and will continue to
pray for a complete recovery for Sono.
Love,
Sandy
