Concerns for the Future...

Prov. 10:17~"He who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray. "

Prov. 11:22~"Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion."

I'm praying for our culture. I'm praying for my daughters who are young women 'coming of age' in this world, this society, this currupt and sinful culture. I'm praying for wise, moral, godly choices to be made by our young people, both for the future of our country AND our families...
Lord, please keep a hedge of protection around our children. Lord, please cause them to listen to the voice of wisdom from Your Holy Spirit as He whispers in their ears. Lord, please cause them to be a standard, for You, in the midst of the temptation to follow the crowd into sin.

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of parenthood that You have given us. Thank You, Lord, for being our Heavenly Father. Thank You, Lord, for how You work in our lives. Thank You, Lord, for Your love and care.

In Jesus' mighty Name, Amen.

DO NOT stop praying for your children! No matter how young or old they are. This is such a currupt & tempting world. Lately, I see so many young people ~ even from strong Christian families ~ making foolish, foolish choices.

Many of us will be blessed with grown children who make all the right choices and seem to cruise right through life...

Many of us will be the parents of Prodigals and will rejoice with the angels of Heaven at their return; but the scars of their folly will remain as a reminder ~ both of their folly and as reminders of the mire they were lifted out of...

And, even in the best of Christian families, there will be those who parent children that no amount of love, Bible teaching or parental guidence will stop them from making foolish CHOICES as they are being led astray by the influences of the poor choices of friends, cults and our culture at large.
If evil LOOKED like evil, we would have no problem, but remember, Satan was God's most beautiflul creation...that's why sin SEEMS so sweet & IS so tempting! It bites us only to either leave a terrible scar or kill you in the end...when our backs are turned, our guard is down and we least expect it.

It seems that I'm seeing this so much lately and my heart is burdened. I'm assuming that if the Lord has laid it on my heart, that I'm not the only one. I hope you will join me in praying for our children.

Blessings from Ohio, Kim<><

  2. Kim, great post. I too pray constantly for my three girls, as I know all too well what happens when you involve yourself in the wrong crowd. Plus we also got news that good friends of ours will be going through a divorce, as she wants to be "free" now. They also have 3 girls, soooo sad.

  3. Kim, thank you so much for this post. Truly the Lord honors our prayers as parents. I think far too often when our kids reach their late teen years we as parents don't see as much of a need for them to make the right choices, or to be guided by His Word. But I know that those prayers are much needed...even (and maybe especially) after they are married and begin raising families of their own.

I also stopped by to let you know that I've left an award for you over at my blog. Please stop by to receive it.

  5. A post I really relate to. Thanks for sharing your prayers. Have you read The Power of praying for your Adult Children. Stormie Omartian. I know it says Adult children, but I wish I'd have read it years ago when they were little. Thought I'd pass it on. First time here.
    I'll be back.
    Blessings

  6. thank you so very much, yes I too carry this burden for the children, things are so bad, and I pray that God keep that hedge around them, and keep them drawn close to him.
I sing a song called, Where are the Children, it is a powerful song much like this devotional.

  7. OH! This is my worry for my younger two. THey just seem to make bad choices no matter the constant Godly advise we give them! While the older one seems to really have her head on straight and makes wise choices...same teachers.. but the lessons are coming through different wiring.
