The Simple Woman's Daybook ~#113~ 3/8/11
For Today...
Outside my window...a little grey; the sun is arguing w/the clouds to see who wins the day. I'm rooting for the sun!
I am thinking...of how happy I am to have a home that gets dirty, clothes that need cleaning, cars that drink up that expensive gas . . . b/c that means that I HAVE those things & I am blessed far more than I deserve.
I am thankful for...being able to get our car fixed & a free loaner. And being able to use the services of a homeschool family's business.
From the kitchen...no one home for lunch but me . . . maybe left-over pizza, maybe a something fried! :-P
I am wearing...jeans, purple shirt, beige & purple socks.
I am remembering...birthday parties for our girls when they were little.
I am going...to speak at the North Dayton Christian Home Educators Association meeting tonight, on Homeschooling as a Lifestyle. One of my favorite topics & one of my favorite groups to visit.
I am hoping...for a miracle prayer to be answered! :-)
I am creating...a peaceful, Christ-centered home.
I am hearing...the radio, typing fingers, the coffee maker, Maggie's dog tags jingling as she prances by.
I am noticing...how just a tiny bit of conversation can change a customer's attitude for the better.
Around the house...general pick up, laundry, prep for tonight's workshop...
One of my favorite things...seeing the light come on in someone's face, during a workshop, when they realize "I CAN do that! My family will love this!"
Plans for the week...family time, work, workshop, praise practice, a combined birthday dinner w/my family, a "night of worship" at a local church, Sunday worship w/the saints . . . the best part of the week!
Pondering these words..."When I fail to be grateful for God's work & movement in my life, I become nonchalant in my attitude toward Him."
Scripture thought..."The people to whom I am sending you are obstinate & stubborn. Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says.' And whether they listen or fail to listen ~ for they are a rebellious house ~ they will know that a prophet has been among them . . . You must speak My words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious . . . But if you do warn the wicked man & he does not turn from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for this sin; but you will have saved yourself." ~Ezekiel 2:4,5,7,3:19
We are commanded to tell the lost about God's salvation through the shed blood, death & resurrection of Jesus Christ; the hearer has the choice of accepting or turning away. Unfortunately, we can't "save" people, even our loved-ones, that is the work of the wooing of the Holy Spirit. Once the hearer hears the truth, they are then eternally held accountable for what the did - or didn't - do w/that information. We are accountable for our telling, they are accountable to act upon what was heard. Whether they do or don't accept Jesus as their Savior is no reflection upon us . . . we may be incredibly joyful in being a part of the circumstances the Lord used to bring someone to Himself, but not the credit. We are simply called to tell them.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...
My dream stove ! ! :-)

I like the "I'm thinking" list! We all have soooo much to be thankful for and are more blessed than most of the world.
ReplyDeleteIt is true; we all need to have more grateful hearts. I love your post today and enjoyed the scripture and thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI think I have commented before that my daughter Homeschools. She lives in Missouri; so I don't get to see her very often. She and her family will be here this weekend. The fact that she can go anywhere at anytime if needed with her family because they aren't in regular school is a positive.
I think in today's world homeschooling is going to continue to be a very popular way of our children obtaining a good education.
Blessings to you! LeAnn
