Word-Filled Wednesday ~#99~ Assurance While We Wait

"In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait in expectation." ~Ps. 5:3

"The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." ~Zephaniah 3:17

Boy howdy! The last couple of months have been quite the adventure at our house ~ THE Man was laid off due to "downsizing", DD#2 quit her job because her Christian faith was being persecuted by a person over her and upper management would do nothing about it ~ and we stand with her for quitting ~ so she, too, is looking for another job; not only am I now the only one working outside the home, but I am trying to find a way to start my own business; then there's juggling bills, changing churches; a family member had an accident at home and had to spend the night in the hospital (BUT . . . the Lord worked an incredible miracle there! PTL!) . . . plus all the everyday things that just go with life.

How do people who don't have the Lord in their lives cope with all that life throws at them? Well . . . I know because I didn't become a Christian until I was 23, but it was such a different life ago that I have to think back. Hmmm . . . not exactly a collection of good choices. :-/ But the Lord is SO good, SO much better than I deserve

And in this new life that I have been blessed with, I know that He is my Provider ~ my Jehovah Jireh. He is my Peace ~ Jehovah Shalom. He is my life, my Banner ~ Jehovah Nissi. He is my Healer ~ Jehovah Rapha. He is my Savior-Shepherd ~ Jehovah Raah. And He has proven Himself in my life over and over and over again.

So, we continue to send up our prayers trusting and knowing that He hears and answers. And as we wait EXPECTANTLY upon His answers, we rejoice that He rejoices in us ~ a truth that this sinner saved by His grace alone will never get over. When I am on the verge of panic or weariness, He quiets me with His love, He covers me as a mother hen covers her chicks with her wings (Matt. 23:37) and . . . best of all . . . He SINGS over me.

He SINGS over me.

If the Lord is all those things and more, if He loves me enough to sing His comfort and love over me . . . how can I not know that He is walking this road ahead of us? How can we not trust in the assurance that our Shepherd is leading us in the way we should go?

Blessings from Ohio . . . Kim<><

  1. His banner over me is love! That is the first thing that came to mind as I was reading down over your post. What a precious testimony you are sharing as you trust in Him, Kim. Hugs to you.

  2. Lovely thoughts about the Savior and about how He is there for us all. How I love Jesus Christ and marvel at his atonement for us.
Hope you hubby and daughter get good jobs. I think it is so sad when one is persecuted for their beliefs.
    Blessings and hugs!

  3. Was so greatly blessed by your post. Like you I can not think of not having the Lord guide us, to be without him in our times of trouble would just be pure blackness...will be praying for a great job for all.....
