The Simple Woman's Daybook ~#201~ 1/21/14

For Today . . .

Outside my window . . . snow and wind, the light of day is fading and turning the snow to blue. Lovely.

I am thankful . . . for a warm, cozy home and a family who loves me.

I am thinking . . . of how blessed I am to have a godly husband who shoulders so many burdens for us.

From the kitchen . . . ground chuck with yellow rice and mixed veggies.

I am wearing . . . jeans, gray shirt, gray heathered sweater, warm socks, moccasin slippers.

I am creating . . . a peaceful, CHRIST-centered home.

I am going . . . to stay home this cold, cold night.

I am wondering . . . if I should try to become a certified herbalist.

I am hoping . . . for connections.

I am looking forward to . . . what this year will bring.

I am learning . . . that learning never ends.

About the house . . . quiet ~ just DD#2, Maggie the dog and I at home right now.

I am pondering . . . options.

I am reading . . . "Agenda 21" by Glenn Beck

One of my favorite things . . . candle light.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . family time, work, praise practice, errands, research for projects and blogs posts, worship with the saints.

A favorite quote of the day . . . "There is a difference between having a relationship with "church" and a relationship with Jesus." ~from Sunday's sermon.

Scripture thought . . . "But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect." ~I Cor. 15:10

A Picture thought for you . . .

A relative had an old family photo colorized. That handsome 16 year old young man on the right is my Daddy <3 span="">

The Simple Woman's Daybook ~#200~ 9/3/13

For Today . . .

Outside my window . . . dark, clear, starry, starry night; the coolness of fall is creeping in. I love it.

I am thankful . . . for being able to take just a little bit of the financial burden off of THE Man's shoulders while he is laid off. I'm also thankful for a great interview he had last week.

I am thinking . . . about an answer I'm hoping to get in the next few days. :-)

From the kitchen . . . meat loaf and noodles.

I am wearing . . . gray sweat pants and a heather-gold hoodie.

I am creating . . . a peaceful, CHRIST-centered home.

I am going . . . to go to bed soon ~ I'm beat.

I am wondering . . . how the Lord will answer our prayers.

I am hoping . . . that we will be thrilled with the answer.

I am looking forward to . . . getting started.

I am learning . . . that the Lord moves the hearts of man.

About the house . . . drain unplugged, sink and dishwasher are usable again. Yippee!

I am pondering . . . when to change ~ full-time ~ to a local church; the one we go to now ~ and love ~ is 45 minutes away. We need to find one closer to home.

I am reading . . . "Sacred Marriage" by Gary Thomas for women's Bible study starting this week.

One of my favorite things . . . days like yesterday. For Labor Day, we and several dear brothers and sisters in the Lord met at some friends' farm and had a truly wonderful day . . . sweet fellowship, carry-in food, gorgeous weather, horseshoes, beanbag toss, Apples-to-Apples game, s'mores around the fire, great conversation and lots of laughs. Yep . . . great day.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . family time, work, Bible study, anticipating answered prayer.

A favorite quote for the day . . . The 1st chapter of Nehemiah end with his saying, "I was cupbearer to the king." (Neh. 1:11[b]) I am as much "a cupbearer" as he was; I am not important to the world's leaders . . . BUT . . . I am important to God. I am His servant set in place to serve and lead those within my sphere of influence, to Him. (Notes from Sunday's sermon)

Scripture thought . . . "O Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant . . . " ~Neh. 1:11(a)

A picture thought for you . . .

 I adore English/Irish/Scottish cottages ~
needless-to-say that when I saw this sweet tea cup and saucer
that I fell in love.

The Simple Woman's Daybook ~#199~ 8/19/13

For Today . . .

Outside my window . . . dark sky, full moon. I'm writing that at night instead of morning, today.

I am thankful . . . to be able to bring in a paycheck, since THE Man was laid off 2 weeks ago.

I am thinking . . . that I hope one of his interviews turns into a fantastic job . . . SOON.

From the kitchen . . . roast beef sandwiches.

I am wearing . . . jammies ~ getting ready to bed; early to work in the morning.

I am creating . . . a peaceful, Christ-centered home.

I am going . . . to talk to someone very important later this week . . .

I am wondering . . . at the outcome . . .

I am hoping . . . that it turns out really well :-)

I am looking forward to . . .  when the ball starts rolling.

I am learning . . . that God embraces the desire of my heart just as much as I do.

About the house . . . clogged kitchen drain. Not fun.

I am pondering . . . timing.

I am reading . . . Acts

One of my favorite things . . . reunions with old friends. My friend from high school, Shelly, was "back home" from Texas this past week. We got to see each other for a few short hours while she was here. What a blessing.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . family time, work, doing a few more homeschool assessments, interview, worship . . .

A favorite thought for the day . . . "When God puts someone in my path and there's an opportunity to share the Gospel with them, don't worry ~He's in control ~ He's already spent years working everything out so that we could come together for this very moment. He has personally arranged the opportunity." ~from Sunday's sermon.

Scripture thought . . . "When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you  the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so the your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power." ~1 Cor. 2:1-5 ~~Whenever I do a workshop or am asked to speak before a group, I always open my presentation with this Scripture.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . family time, work, an important appointment, doing several homeschool assessments, writing an article, blogging, Sunday worship.

A favorite thought for the day . . . remembering what God has done for me in the past assures me of what He will do for me in the future. ~Me :-)

Scripture thought . . . "You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.'" ~2 Chronicles 20:17 [emphasis mine]

A picture thought for you . . .

Congratulations to William and Kate and all of Britain,

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us." ~1 Peter 2:9-10, 12
