The Simple Woman's Daybook ~#137~ 10/11/11
For Today . . .
Outside my window . . . lovely, beautiful sunshine; gorgeous colorful leaves, squirrels running around gathering nuts for the winter, breezes causing the leaves to skitter across our yard & driveway.
I am thinking . . . about lovely fall days. Help! I need a bon-fire fix! And, I need to make some business cards w/my blog address on it.
I am thankful for . . . God's provisions & answers to prayer.
From the kitchen . . . bread baking day, making detergent . . . making chicken salad so that my family will have something for supper while I'm at work tonight.
I am wearing . . . jeans, DD#1's old Golden Angels (homeschool volleyball team) t-shirt, zip-up hoodie.
I am creating . . . a peaceful, Christ-centered home.
I am going . . . to take DD#2 to work, putter around the house, putter around on Facebook, check out some favie blogs & go to work.
I am wondering . . . at all the things the Lord puts into motion to answer prayer.
I am reading . . . "The Story" & "The Heart of The Story" ~ Bible & Bible study by Randy Frazee that our church & Sunday Schools are going through.
I am hoping . . . for certain conflicts to soon be worked out.
I am looking forward to . . . this Indian Summer we are having to end ~ lovely though it is ~ I'm ready for sweater weather to return.
I am hearing . . . music from my blog :-) I have it on another link so that I can listen to it.
Around the house . . . making the above mentioned items, general pick up, never-ending laundry. Trying to decide if I should take up my herbs that I want to pot for the winter today or wait 'til tomorrow.
One of my favorite things . . . all the fun things of fall ~ colorful leaves, the smell of burning leaves & smoke from neighbors' fireplaces & wood stoves, bon-fires, s'mores, hayrides, pumpkins, mums . . .
A few plans for the rest of the week . . . family time, work, worship practice, Sunday worship w/the saints.
Pondering these words . . . "God has a place of blessing to which He wants to take us." ~The Heart of the Story, p. 74
Scripture thought . . . "This day I call the heavens & the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life & death, blessings & curses. Now choose life, so that you & your children may live & that you may love the LORD your God, listen to His voice, & hold fast to Him. For the LORD is your life, & He will give you many years in the land He swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac & Jacob." ~Deut. 30:19-20 [emphasis mine]
Here's a picture thought I'm sharing with you . . .
The sun shining through a tree in our back yard.

I loved your Daybook entry today. I always find peace in your thoughts. I would like a few more days of autumn; but winter has it's purpose. I love all the holidays and the love that I feel during this season. I too love the Savior Jesus Christ and desire a Christ-centered home.
