The Simple Woman's Daybook ~#73~ 4/6/10

For Today...

Outside my window...beautiful sunshine & beautiful 'new' green! A few small puddles & fallen limbs from trees after last night's storm. Emerging color. Thank You, Lord, for the new life of spring.
I am thinking...how glad I am to be off today.

I am thankful for...still having our home & cars after such a terrible financial year.

From the kitchen...making a new loaf of bread, I'll be the only one home for lunch so I'll probably have an Amy's pesto tortellini bowl & maybe tacos w/my homemade pico de gallo for supper.

I am wearing...jeans, green long-sleeved t-shirt, brown hoodie for the chilly morning.

I am remembering…what I've always told our girls: "It's the little things that mean the most."

I am going…clean the house & work on the training manual I have for work.

I am reading...Bible: daily Proverbs & Daniel.

I am hoping...that one of the great jobs DH has applied for will hire him, QUICKLY, b/c his very low-paying temp job ends at the end of this month. :-/

On my mind…bills & praying that our girls make good choices.

I am creating...a peaceful home.

I am hearing...those morning sounds: laundry going, radio, DD#2 puttering around & getting ready for work, my typing fingers...mingled w/birds outside the windows.

Noticing that…last year's cilantro, in my herb garden, re-seeded itself & is already coming up! It's even spread a little!

Pondering these words…"Some change is so subtle that we don't even nitice it. Some change is drastic & swift. What God did through Jesus Christ was so drastic that it changed the dynamics of the whole world!" ~ Pastor Shawn Hess, Easter, 2010.

Around the house...laundry (laundry, laundry!), general cleaning, a little baking...

One of my favorite things...my 2 favorites birds: red-tailed hawks & red-winged blackbirds; favorite songbird is a robin.

A Scripture thought..."A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control." ~ Prov. 29:11. Thank You, Lord, that You must be making me wiser w/age; thank You for how You cause me to calmly stand firm w/my extended family.

A few plans for the rest of the week...Spring Fling meeting w/the ladies on the planning committee, taking a friend to the farm stores for the 1st time, work, family time.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...
My 2 favorite birds...TOGETHER! Who'da thunk it? '-)

  3. I've been so slack in my blog commenting, but have enjoyed reading everything you post. Will be praying your husband is hired and that all things work out to the best. Which, we know when our trust is in Christ, is completely and totally a possibility!

  4. That Flaxseed Bread looks and sounds good. I may give that a try next week.

I pray your husband has positive results on the job search.

That picture is AWESOME! I have never seen a smaller bird piggy backing a larger bird like that!
