The Simple Woman's Daybook ~#185~ 4/1/13

For Today . . .

Outside my window . . . glorious sunshine! What a difference a week makes ~ last week we had a freak spring snowstorm, had 8" and it was still coming down. Now ~ the earth knows that Jesus has risen and is responding accordingly.

I am thinking . . . of how blessed I am that I serve a risen Savior. HIS tomb is EMPTY.

I am thankful . . . for that empty tomb. I'm also thankful for my family and the time we could all spend together, yesterday.

From the kitchen . . . baking bread, I need to run to the farm and get some milk.

I am wearing . . . jeans, gray thermal shirt, gray/tan/white cardigan sweater.

I am creating . . . a peaceful, Christ-centered home.

I am going . . . to run some errands, take DD#2 to work, work this evening ~ making everyone healthy & beautiful. :-)

I am wondering . . . how something will all come together.

I am hoping . . . for it to go smoothly.

I am reading . . . "Gifted Hands ~ the Ben Carson Story." SO good ~ wish I had more time to dig into it.

I am looking forward to . . . being able to take Maggie to have her spring grooming.

I am learning . . . all kinds of things!

Around the house . . . general pick-up, baking, chicken noodle soup.

One of my favorite things . . . laughing ourselves to tears with our girls. I had so much fun laughing with our daughters and a friends while taking them for a country ride in my truck, yesterday. I could hardly see to drive ~ another advantage of country roads ~ very little traffic.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . family time, work, planning and preparing, blogging, writing project, worship . . .

A favorite quote for the day . . . "Hope is NEVER past tense. The 2 followers who were met by Jesus on the Road to Emmaus told Him (before they realized it was the risen Lord) that 'we had hoped the He was the One Who was going to redeem Israel.' (Luke 24:20) Their hope was in the past tense. When they finally recognized Him (Luke 24:31), their hope was restored. Not even a crucifiction can stop a resurrection!!!" ~Notes from Sunday's sermon.

Scripture thought . . . "He [Jesus] said to them, 'How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter His glory?'" ~Luke 24:25-26

A picture thought for you . . .

  1. Another great daybook entry. I loved this one.
I can't believe you had another snow storm with that much. Yesterday we had a lovely Easter day with great weather. Today it is a little cloudy so who knows if we get rain or snow. I am anxious for spring to come and stay.
I too am so joyful to know that the tomb is empty.I have such a love for my Savior.
It is so awesome that you have your girls near to laugh with; I wish mine were closer. We do laugh on the phone a lot.
Thanks for the scriptures and quote.
    Blessings and hugs!

  3. Thank you for the anniversary wishes. Very sweet of you! And doubly neat that we share the same anniversary.

I enjoyed your Daybook. We love to laugh with our kiddos too. Laughing so hard that you can't see is the best kind of laughter :-)
