The Simple Woman's Daybook ~#184~ 3/25/13

For today . . .

Outside my window . . . Snow, snow & MORE snow. At least 4" & still drifting down.

I am thinking . . . I love God's wonderful sense of humor & how all things work together ~ He has definitely made up for the lack of snow we got last year.

I am thankful . . . That THE Man & our car are both OK ~ especially THE Man. <3 b=""> He had to be at church earlier than I did, so we drove separately. By the time church was over, the snow was REALLY coming down ~ the ground was completely covered, the snow was fluffy & heavy & visibility was LOW. Within 15 miles, we passed 5 cars & 2 semi-trucks off the road. We had to stop for one of the semis in distress, & even though he was quite a way behind me, THE Man hit a slick spot & slid into the back of my truck ~ the truck won. But we are praising God that 1) THE Man is OK & 2) the part of the car that hit the truck was the front license plate, which wrapped around the truck's trailer hitch ~ the license plate was easily hammered out once we got home. The Lord is SO good to us.

From the kitchen . . . baking my flaxseed bread.

I am wearing . . .long, brown thermal dress, brown heathered tights, brown scarf.

I am creating . . . a peaceful, Christ-centered home.

I am going . . . to go to work the late shift ~ making people healthy & beautiful.

I am wondering . . . about timing.

I am hoping . . . I can get it all done.

I am reading . . . Just finished "Heaven is for Real" & will begin "Gifted Hands ~ The Ben Carson Story" that was so graciously sent to me by my sweet friend Dianna for my birthday. You should visit her blog, Joyful in His Presence. You'll love it.

I am looking forward to . . . a long-awaited dream coming true.

I am learning . . . that "a gentle answer turns away wrath" ~Prov. 15:1

Around the house . . . general pick-up; a little time w/DD#2 b/c she didn't have to go into work b/c of the snow. Yippee skippee!!!

One of my favorite things . . . a great sermon. Yesterday's was really good.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . family time, work, worship practice, practice for the special music THE Man, our dear friend Pam & I are singing for Easter . . .

A favorite quote for the day . . . Palm Sunday is about Jesus Christ making a public presentation that "NOW is the time of MY choosing for you to crucify Me." Knowing that He would be killed in Jerusalem, He came into the city very publicly, riding on a donkey (fulfilling Scripture ~Zech. 9:9), He DID NOT come secretly. (Kings who entered a city in peace came on a donkey ~ kings who entered to control came on a horse.) ~from Sunday's sermon notes.

Scripture thought . . . "I tell you," He [Jesus] replied, "if they keep quiet, the stone will cry out." ~Luke 19:40. ALL creation praises Jesus Christ!!!! EVERYTHING in the natural ~ naturally created/nature ~ SHOUTS praises to, and affirms the existence of, THE Creator God!!!!

  1. Two things caught my heart's attention just now as I was reading down over your blog post, Kim. The first one was your looking forward to a long awaited dream coming true (I'm right there with you waiting, Friend) and the notes from the sermon you heard yesterday about how Jesus entered Jerusalem as a King showing that He was coming in peace, not secretly as one who sought control. I'll be enjoying that thought as I finish up a couple of things around the house today. xo

  2. Wow, that was a snow storm. We had snow for a couple of days but it melted quickly. I have a daughter that lives in Missouri and they really got a lot of snow so many of the members of their church couldn't get there.
I am glad the accident wasn't serious and that your hubby was Ok.
I do love Easter time and all the great thoughts on our Savior, Jesus Christ. I enjoyed your daybook entry today.
Blessings and have a great Easter with your family.

    1. I had a dear friend who lives in Missouri ~ we tease that she keeps me up-to-date on the weather we'll get the day after her.

I hope you have a joyous Easter, too, LeAnn.
