Word-Filled Wednesday ~#134~ I Am a Christian

"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes; first for the Jew, then for the Gentile." ~Romans 1:16

"If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all." ~Isaiah 7:9

"Yet I am not ashamed, because I know Whom I have believed." ~2 Timothy 1:12

The other night, I had a dream. I dreamed that Christians were denying the Name Jesus ~ that they didn't want to call themselves Christians. They wanted to shy away from the most important part of the title: CHRISTian.  They were giving in to the call of the "Politically Correct" who didn't approve of the title.

I was heart-broken. I was stunned. I vaguely remember asking the Lord why this was happening? ~ feeling my heart beating nearly out of my chest. Why would they deny You, deny wearing Your Name after ALL you have done for them? He then prompted me to write about it and ask them. So I did. I sat at my computer and started hammering out a blog post, asking them "WHY?" Then . . .

I woke up . . .

My heart was still pounding with angst that my friends were not wanting to wear the Name of Jesus anymore. I've never "written" anything in my sleep before, and I still had that heartbroken feeling that I couldn't shake, even after waking, and I still had the words I had been dream-typing rolling around in my head. My cell phone was the closet thing to me, so I grabbed it and typed out all I could remember from my dream . . . . . . .

I hear that some people ~ the cool, the trendy, the Politically Correct ~ don't "approve" of us calling ourselves "Christian." Why? A Christian ~ one who has been saved by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, and the word of our testimony (Rev. 12:11) IS a "Christ follower." OK, so as a Christ Follower, that IS a CHRISTian.

Do you then call yourself a "Believer"? A believer in what? In whom? Jesus? OK, well, that doesn't set you apart from the rest of creation or mankind because the devil and his nasty minions believe in Jesus, too . . . but . . . I don't want to be counted as a "believer" with them . . . do you?

Why let the world delude you into diluting who you are IN CHRIST? Don't let this dying world convince you that you should be ashamed of His Name!

IF you believe Jesus is THE Son of God, the 3rd Person of the Trinity; IF you believe Jesus is God's Messiah, IF you are born again, IF you have repented of your sins, IF Jesus has forgiven you, IF you are living for Jesus Christ . . . then YOU ARE a CHRISTian. The only other less politically correct moniker would be to call yourself a "Jesus Freak"! Well, then "let your freak flag fly," as they say.

Don't let the lies of the world convince you that being a CHRISTian ~ saying that you are a CHRISTian ~ is a bad thing. If you deny Christ, He has said He WILL deny you.

"But whoever denies Me before men,
I will also deny him before
My Father Who is
in heaven."
~Matt. 10:33

Don't let the world tell you who you are, don't let political correctness or outward pressure from family, friends or employer convince you that the Name of Christ is a bad thing. Wear your title proudly ~ let your CHRISTian light shine before men ~ ALL HOPE OF MANKIND IS IN JESUS CHRIST

Be unashamed of The One, of Jesus Christ, Who saved your soul from eternity in hell, Who did what NO ONE ELSE could do, would do, and rose from the dead to conquer death, hell and the grave. Who took the punishment for YOUR sin.

Be unashamed

You know who you were before you repented of your sins and begged for God's forgiveness, you know what your weaknesses are now . . . and yet God loves you with an everlasting love because you responded to the TRUTH of Jesus' sacrifice for you

You are not who you once were because of Jesus Christ. You are a CHRISTian and you are unashamed!

Act like it.

Blessings from Ohio . . . Kim<><

  1. Oh my, Kim! This one powerful post! I don't understand it either, apart from the fact that the Bible tells it will happen. I just don't understand how a Christian can be ashamed to be known by that name. Hugs to you, my dear friend, for sharing this heartfelt message today!

  2. I am a Christian and a disciple of Christ. The only sad part is that many Christian's do not believe our Church is a Christian church. It make me sad because the title of our Church is: "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That sounds Christian to me.
You had quite the dream and I know that you stand up for Christ. Blessings to you for your firm testimony of the Savior.

  3. very frightening dream! unfortunately, there are people who call themselves Christians who don't accept the virgin birth, Jesus as the only way to heaven and the other basic tenants of the faith. ???? I am concerned and afraid hell is going to be full of people who said they knew Christ.
I am not one of them; I am unashamed of His name.
