The Simple Woman's Daybook ~#200~ 9/3/13

For Today . . .

Outside my window . . . dark, clear, starry, starry night; the coolness of fall is creeping in. I love it.

I am thankful . . . for being able to take just a little bit of the financial burden off of THE Man's shoulders while he is laid off. I'm also thankful for a great interview he had last week.

I am thinking . . . about an answer I'm hoping to get in the next few days. :-)

From the kitchen . . . meat loaf and noodles.

I am wearing . . . gray sweat pants and a heather-gold hoodie.

I am creating . . . a peaceful, CHRIST-centered home.

I am going . . . to go to bed soon ~ I'm beat.

I am wondering . . . how the Lord will answer our prayers.

I am hoping . . . that we will be thrilled with the answer.

I am looking forward to . . . getting started.

I am learning . . . that the Lord moves the hearts of man.

About the house . . . drain unplugged, sink and dishwasher are usable again. Yippee!

I am pondering . . . when to change ~ full-time ~ to a local church; the one we go to now ~ and love ~ is 45 minutes away. We need to find one closer to home.

I am reading . . . "Sacred Marriage" by Gary Thomas for women's Bible study starting this week.

One of my favorite things . . . days like yesterday. For Labor Day, we and several dear brothers and sisters in the Lord met at some friends' farm and had a truly wonderful day . . . sweet fellowship, carry-in food, gorgeous weather, horseshoes, beanbag toss, Apples-to-Apples game, s'mores around the fire, great conversation and lots of laughs. Yep . . . great day.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . family time, work, Bible study, anticipating answered prayer.

A favorite quote for the day . . . The 1st chapter of Nehemiah end with his saying, "I was cupbearer to the king." (Neh. 1:11[b]) I am as much "a cupbearer" as he was; I am not important to the world's leaders . . . BUT . . . I am important to God. I am His servant set in place to serve and lead those within my sphere of influence, to Him. (Notes from Sunday's sermon)

Scripture thought . . . "O Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant . . . " ~Neh. 1:11(a)

A picture thought for you . . .

 I adore English/Irish/Scottish cottages ~
needless-to-say that when I saw this sweet tea cup and saucer
that I fell in love.

  1. I also adore English/Irish/Scottish cottages. I would love to live in a style like that one day. So beautiful! I pray you hear the news you're waiting for soon and have a wonderful rest of the week!

  2. I'm glad the coolness of fall is creeping in too. 60 degrees this morning when I woke up. It doesn't last long, but that's okay.

Praying your hubby finds a new job soon.

Creating a peaceful, Christ-centered home is a wonderful thing. Thanks for sharing this in your Daybook.

We used to drive 30 minutes to a church several times a week, but last year made the move to one that is 3 minutes away. Loving that!!! :-)

  3. Such a lovely entry this week, Kim.

I love it when we can truly grasp the fact that the Lord moves the hearts of men! Our pastor preached on that very thing just a couple of weeks ago and I've been pondering it ever since.

I was excited to see that your Bible study is doing Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas. His companion book to that, Sacred Influence, is even better!

The gorgeous scene on the tea cup and saucer look like a cottage that Beatrix Potter would have lived in. We definitely have the same tastes. Which reminds me, as I catch up on blog reading I am sipping on a cup of CHAI spice tea! ;-)

    Hugs to you, sweet Kim.
