For Such a Time as This . . .

  Justice is turned back,
and righteousness stands far away;
for truth has stumbled in the public squares,
and uprightness cannot enter. ~Is. 59:14

". . . And who knows but that you have come . . . for such a time as this?" ~Esther 4:14

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! . . . Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." ~Ecc.4:9,10 & 12

". . . Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing." ~Ezekiel 47:12(b)

Well, I'm sure you know by now that our Supreme Court did the unthinkable ~ they voted to hasten us on our way to becoming a Socialist country by up-holding Obamacare. Even though I occasionally make political comments on my blog, I try not to be too confrontational, but what I just wrote HAD to be said.

Until we elect a new President who, God willing, will repeal this heinous law immediately after his inauguration, this may be a good time for all of us to take seriously that WE need to take care of ourselves & our family. It is my pleasure to share with you things that I know & have learned about living frugally & doing as much about our families' health care at home.

In light of that, here are some quick links to . . .

If you are new to Marmee's Pantry then sit down, make yourself comfortable & look through these recipes. Copy them down & make your own notebook so that this information will be at your finger-tips & you can refer the them again & again.

I am glad that the Lord has put me here for such a time as this ~ both for your family & my own. Oh ~ & don't forget to read your Bible, pray. I hope that my Devotions section will up-lift you & draw you closer to the Lord.

God have mercy on our great country.

  1. I didn't think this was right. It just caps the terrible time lately with health care here in our home. My hubby came home to tell me that even though the company went to a new health care plan, we could not afford it. It seems like it is cheaper for them not to contribute and pay the fine that is it to help get affordable health care. The new plan would be 196.00 per week and have a 20,000.00 deductable. We can't do that. I had to go to a Take Care Clinic thru Walgreens (you don't have these in Ohio as NP can't work without a doctor on site) because I didn't catch a bladder infection soon enough. I don't think I will be able to go to my doctor as she takes cash only and no insurance. I think this is now illegal.

God help us. Our tax money is paying for the family downstairs to have medicaid. I doubt Mom and Dad are even legal. But if something happens to us, we are in deep trouble.

I think Mitt Rommey gave a good speech after. I do hope he means it.

    1. I'm w/you, Amy, I DO SO hope he means it. I pray that we are pleasantly surprised by him WHEN he is our President. We have no insurance, either, & must pay for everything w/cash. Well, those people below you who receive Medicaid might just lose it w/Obamacare ~ it is set to take $500 billion out of Medicaid/Medicare. So our seniors will suffer, too.

      Lord, help us.

  2. I was just thinking this evening that I really need to print out everything I've learned, recipes, health remedies, etc. to have available in case the internet ceases to be a source of information. Not to sound like a doomsayer, but we already have internet tzars in the works. So glad my hope isn't in a government, or a supreme court, or any law of the land. On Christ the solid rock we stand...

  3. I just joined your blog. I had to have my own rant about the Supreme Court on my blog which I hope you'll have time to visit. I know we will be weeping on the 4th when we, again, read the Declaration of Independence. So sad. How much more important, now, to be as frugal and independent as possible. Lovely blog, thank you so much.
