Seasons in Our Lives . . .

Just in case my regular blog friends have noticed that I haven't been commenting on your blogs lately, I wanted you to know why, although I'm still trying to be faithful posting on this blog. It keeps me sane & gives me something else to think about.

My 81 yr old mom has been in the hospital since Sunday afternoon. Her dementia has greatly progressed in the last 6 months along w/some incredibly painful circulation issues in her feet & lower legs. It seems that each "feeds" upon the other & they both get worse & worse.

As of yesterday, my brother & I finally got her to drink about 1/4 of a small bottle of Ensure & take a very few bites of mashed potatoes & gravy, the 1st she'd eaten since Sunday. But we celebrated the success w/much encouragement & even got a smile out of her.

Improvement or not, I think it looks like she may not be long for this world. We are HOPING to be able to bring her home soon . . . we're not sure at this point. But I know my Daddy is waiting patiently for her to join him at the feet of Jesus.

All that to say, that your prayers for my mom, my brother, myself & our families are greatly appreciated. Thank you all, ahead of time.

With a grateful heart to my blogging family . . . Kim<><

  2. I certainly will be praying, Kim. I stop by often...just not able to leave comments yet on a regular basis. I had a fall on July 14...broke my right wrist and left femur. I'm doing well in my recovery, but not able to do all I would like yet. I know with time it will come.

May Jesus give you and your brother peace and stamina as you care for your sweet momma at this time.

  4. Yes, Kim, I will add you and your family to my prayer list. I pray that Jesus will comfort you during this time. It will be 1 year on MOnday that my wonderful mother in law went to see Jesus! It is bitter sweet! Blessings to you all!

  6. Dearest Kim,
Your mom and my dad were/are the same age. Daddy died 13 days before his 82nd birthday. This is a very hard "season" of life, but we know that we will all face it and I'm so thankful that my daddy had so many years with us. It is very hard seeing them not wanting food, etc. but their bodies just get tired. God is good to give us peace. Just wanted you to know I am praying for you and your family.
    blessings,
    ava

  10. Kiss her, hug her, tell her you love her. No time like the present, in crisis or not, we only have one go round to share with those we love. You all will be in my prayers!
